Dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women and children
Our Mission To provide housing and supportive services to homeless women who want to improve their lives and become self-sufficient.
Our Vision To extend and grow our continuum of service to women through second-stage housing and education
Home of the Sparrow serves homeless and low income women, regardless of religion or race, who are 18 years of age or older. Our clientele include both single women and mothers with children.
HOS is the only local program for the homeless that combines intensive case management with housing in a group environment. Clients have consistent daily interaction with support staff and participate in a comprehensive life skills training course. Currently we administer six major programs: traditional housing, case management, life skills training, outreach, second stage housing, and homeshare.
"Home of the Sparrow has given me the time and space to reevaluate my goals in life. In my ten month stay, I have rediscovered my confidence, inner strength, determination and belief in myself that I can accomplish whatever I need to do to provide a better life for my daughter and me." -Linda, ten month resident at Home of the Sparrow with her 7-year-old daughter
